About
The Hengst collection, designed by Susan Hengst is known for its luxurious fabrics, a strong design viewpoint and perfected construction. The inspiration for each season is immersed in the clothing, telling a story to its customer; the modern woman.
The Hengst line is often described as effortless and elegant while infused with a heavy dose of glamour. Susan combines structured shapes with soft silhouettes. It’s a wardrobe “kit” of sorts that suits the lifestyle of the Hengst wearer. Hengst takes the feedback from her clients and channels it into a collection which is built on the concept of a “continuous collection” where pieces can be worn season to season with endless layering and combining possibilities suiting the needs of her customer.
Hengst designs are made to be worn often and cared for with ease. Most of the collection is designed to be hand washed and hung dry. The fabrics consist of luxurious cottons and soft silks, Italian wools and custom designed prints. Made in the garment center of Manhattan, the excellence of the construction is apparent as everything is impeccably finished to feel amazing on.
A recent Cooper Hewitt National Design Award Nominee, Hengst work has been featured in notable publications such as Vogue, WWD, The New York Times, Dossier, Bazaar, Nylon and many more publications.
